SURVEY: Gen Z Most Likely to Identify as Psychic

Published April 17, 2026

Nearly 20% of Americans believe they possess psychic abilities, with Generation Z leading this perception at 30%.

A survey conducted with 2,000 adults found that 71% trust their intuition at least occasionally, reporting an average of 18 psychic experiences each year. Gen Z experiences intuitive moments at twice the rate of baby boomers, averaging two such instances per month compared to one per month for boomers.

Typical psychic experiences include sensing when something feels wrong without a clear reason (33%), recognizing dishonesty (28%), and knowing the right moment to walk away from a situation (26%).

Approximately 35% of those surveyed find it difficult to distinguish between authentic gut feelings and anxiety, underscoring the complexity of interpreting these sensations.
