Joey Fatone States No *NSYNC Reunion Expected 'in the Near Future'

*NSYNC enthusiasts who have been saving money and hoping for a 30th anniversary reunion tour in 2027 might want to reconsider their plans, as member Joey Fatone indicated that the likelihood of performing again with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick is quite low.

During promotional appearances this week for his new docuseries Boy Band Confidential, Fatone expressed that a reunion is improbable at this time, despite the upcoming anniversary of the band’s 1997 self-titled debut album next year. Although the group technically went on hiatus in 2002 after the Celebrity tour and never officially disbanded, Fatone mentioned he is frequently asked about any intentions to reunite. “Do I see anything in the near future? No I don’t,” he told ET.

Regarding whether he personally would want to reunite, Fatone confirmed he would, but emphasized that the decision is not solely his to make. He explained that some members of the boy band have young children, some are fully committed, but “some of the other guys? Maybe not. I can only speak for myself.” When Turner suggested that the “general consensus” is that Timberlake — by far the most successful solo artist from the group — is the “holdout” regarding any reunion, Fatone agreed that this seems plausible but stressed that it is ultimately a “group thing,” as all members harbor some uncertainty about whether a reunion is the right move.

“I know it sounds crazy, but we also have the doubt of, ‘what happens if this sucks? What happens if it ain’t good?’,” he added.
