SURVEY: Just 23% of Americans Can Accurately Name Earth Day's Date

Recent research indicates that merely 23% of Americans are able to correctly identify the exact date of Earth Day without any prompts. In a survey involving 2,000 adults, 57% accurately recognized that Earth Day takes place in April, yet only 26% pinpointed the precise date as April 22nd.

Distinct generational variations were evident: 42% of millennials reported knowing the date of Earth Day, compared to 28% of baby boomers. Millennials also demonstrated a higher tendency to engage in environmentally friendly behaviors on Earth Day, with 30% adopting sustainable practices versus just 12% of boomers. Nevertheless, 44% of millennials acknowledged that their eco-friendly actions were short-lived and limited to the holiday itself, whereas only 26% of boomers admitted to this temporary commitment.
