She also recently achieved second place at a larger invitational event.

Commitment to Training and Team

Sinke credits her summer training and the effort of her teammates for the strong start to the season. She describes cross country as both a team and an individual sport, emphasizing the energy and camaraderie present at meets. Sinke has been involved in cross country since sixth grade and has taken a more serious approach to her training since seventh grade, incorporating increased mileage and cross training as she progresses through high school.

In addition to her success on the course, Sinke takes pride in her academic achievements, including participation in dual enrollment classes. She expresses a commitment to maintaining high academic standards alongside a demanding training schedule.

Future Goals

This season, Sinke aims to win conference and regional championships, building on her achievements from the previous year. She is also aiming for a personal record under 18 minutes for the 5K distance. Sinke is considering running at the collegiate level and has begun exploring college programs as she prepares for her senior year.

As part of a young team with only one senior, Sinke has taken on a leadership role, encouraging and supporting newer teammates. She values the growth and effort required in running, recognizing both the mental and physical demands of the sport. Sinke attributes her ability to manage setbacks and continue improving to consistent reflection and support from her coaches and team.
