Chipotle Unveils Revamped Rewards Program Featuring Monthly Free Food Offers

Published April 15, 2026

Chipotle is upgrading its rewards program.

The company revealed plans to relaunch its rewards system alongside a redesigned app and a new "Rewards on Repeat" loyalty initiative that provides more frequent and adaptable rewards, according to a press release dated April 13.

This update includes a "completely revamped in-app experience" accessible in the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec), and is crafted to foster "more consistent everyday interaction for members," as stated in the release.

"Chipotle's relaunch is fully additive, introducing new benefits and improving existing ones," the announcement emphasized.

A key feature of the revamped program is that new members will instantly receive free Chips and Guacamole with any purchase of $5 or more as a sign-up bonus.

This offer must be redeemed at participating Chipotle locations in the U.S. and Canada or via the Chipotle mobile app or website within seven days after being credited to the account.

The relaunch also brings back Freepotle, a recurring promotion offering free food.

The brand committed to delivering monthly free bonus Reward drops "to provide even greater value for members who engage throughout the year and quicker rewards without prior purchase for newcomers." Redeeming these monthly drops requires a minimum purchase of $5.

Members can now select their birthday reward from options including guacamole, queso, chips, or a fountain drink.

Additionally, the birthday reward can be redeemed within a 30-day period, a timeframe designed to offer "guests more flexibility to celebrate on their own schedule."

Regarding Chipotle's Rewards Exchange program, users now benefit from reduced point thresholds to redeem items.

New Rewards Exchange offerings include 50% off an entrée, Build Your Own group options, and bundled meal rewards.

According to the chain’s website, these options complement the existing Side Tortilla, Chips, fountain drink, guacamole, double protein, and entrée choices already available in the Rewards Exchange program.

Another component of "Rewards on Repeat" is always-available Extras offers, which feature interactive challenges within the app to earn points. Extras enable personalized engagement with Chipotle, allowing customers to earn points and badges through purchases.

The company also extended the expiration period for points—from six months to one year—provided there is at least one qualifying purchase within that timeframe.

"With 'Rewards on Repeat,' we're delivering more rewards to all members, more often, and enhancing existing benefits. This relaunch reflects what our guests want most: immediate value, personalization and a seamless experience whether they're dining in our restaurants or ordering through the app," said Curt Garner, Chipotle President and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer.

All updated rewards will be easier to access within the app as well—Chipotle announced a redesigned in-app Rewards interface.

Now, all Rewards content is consolidated in a single location, featuring improved visibility of points balances, redemption progress, and available offers, according to the release.

Individuals can enroll in Chipotle Rewards at Chipotle.com or through the Chipotle app.
